List of useful definitions for specific terms used in this document

MMS Mobile Messaging Solutions, Inc.
SMS Short Message Service, also known as “text-messaging”
MO Mobile Originated message – an SMS message that is sent from a mobile phone to an application
MT Mobile Terminated message – an SMS message that is sent to a mobile phone from an application
MIN Mobile Identification Number (a wireless subscriber’s phone number), also called MDN (Mobile Directory Number)
URL Uniform Resource Locator
HTTP GET Hypertext Transfer Protocol GET is the communication protocol used to transfer information to/from MMS servers. The HTTP GET method retrieves the information identified by the Request-URL
HTTP POST Hypertext Transfer Protocol POST is the communication protocol used to transfer information to/from MMS servers. The HTTP POST method requests that a web server accepts and stores the data enclosed in the body of the request URL
Keyword The first word in an incoming (MO) message. Generally used to route specific messaging subsets.
