CSV File Format

An SMS Broadcast begins with creating a list of destination numbers and messages to send. The list should be stored in a standard CSV file then uploaded to the SMS Broadcast System via SFTP.

*Standard CSV format rules must be followed (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4180). Many common office software programs do not strictly follow CSV guidelines and can add additional system characters. Use a standard text editor and send your message to a test phone to assure the content is correct.

Saving a CSV File

There are a number of CSV file encoding available when saving a file. The Broadcast File must be saved in CSV (Comma delimited) (.csv) format. Byte-order-mark (BOM) encoding is not supported.

Maximum File Size

The maximum standard file size is 500,000 line items (rows in the CSV file) for the production SMS Broadcast system.
